For Mother’s Day I wanted to be able to try some recipes that I’d been looking at for a long time and finally got the chance! Tim and I started off by making some of the most delicious pretzels I’d ever had. Smitten Kitchen has the best recipe and I recommend trying it if you ever have a craving or just want to give it a try!
Then for dinner I had been craving fried chicken so I thought instead of going down the road to the old deep fried chicken shack I would give it a whirl myself.
It was delicious! A lot of work but that was probably because my cast iron skillet wasn’t as large as it could have been so I had to stand and fry the chicken for about an hour. Definitely worth the work though. Only to be repeated on special occasions. Thank you to the great man named Alton Brown for his great recipe!
Finally but definitely not least we decided on Chocolate Pie for dessert. This one I will make again and again and again. Was so delicious! I have never had better chocolate pie! Can’t wait to make it again. If I didn’t have about fifty more recipes I want to try and a daring bakers challenge to do this weekend I would totally make it again this weekend!
