Garden 2010 – Part 3
These pictures were taken July 21 and 25, 2010. This first one is of my tomato plants in the centre doing quite well and two plants of basil. The one that doesn’t get quite as much sun is doing a lot better. The carrots are on the other side and are doing quite well. As of today, September 4, we have eaten a lot of carrots and enjoyed them quite a bit. There is nothing like a fresh carrot from your garden! Unfortunately, Tim and I are on a pesto low as of late and haven’t been inspired to make pesto with all the basil we have grown.
These are some tomatoes on my beefsteak. I think they pushed on each other too much or got too heavy because they split around the stems before they were completely ripe.
My poor pepper plant. Trying so hard… Evil squashes are drowning it out!
My and Lukie showing off one of the first full grown zucchini's out of our garden. We made chocolate chip zucchini bread. It was delicious! I’ll post my alterations to it sometime soon so you all can enjoy my version!
This is the last of the pictures I have of our garden, I’ll have to get out there and take some more so you guys can see how it’s going now. My tomatoes aren’t doing as well as I would have hoped and I have big plans for next years garden. I think I’m going to stay with the beds I have but there will be a lot more container gardening as well, especially of food!
