So, I was going to do updates on my garden this year… as you can that didn’t happen. I’ve lost my blogging mojo and I’m not sure how to get it back. I’ve been reading The Happiness Project and maybe it’s given me the kick I needed to keep going with the blogging thing. We shall see.
Here are some pictures of my garden from early summer to now. I think it was quite successful this year, I learned a lot and have some better plans for next years garden. This years accomplishment has also inspired me to expand my garden next year and try some plants that are out of my comfort zone such as; corn, beans, and sunflowers.
These picture are from June 9, 2010.
In the above picture there is a strawberry plant, summer squash, yellow pepper, zucchini, Swiss chard, lettuce mix, spinach, and kale.
There are four tomato plants in this one, Brandywine, Beefsteak, Ultra girl and a cherry tomato. I can’t remember it’s name. I also planted carrots, chives, radishes, and two basil plants to keep the rabbits away. In the back you can see my lavender in a pot. It smelled wonderful all summer.
These are my peas doing wonderfully, then the sun got really REALLY hot one day and they all fried to a crisp. It was a sad day. I’m hoping to put my corn or sunflowers in these planters against the garage this coming year, hopefully they will be more heat resistant.
Riley deciding if the first strawberry of the year is good or not. He took this job very seriously. Thankfully he said they were “delishous!”
