Meal Planning Week 36 of 52

Summer.  For the first time in a long time, probably since I was in school, went by so quickly I’m sure it was just a tease and I am still waiting for the actual summer to show up.  The boys are growing up so quickly and we were so busy with day trips around the city and many camping trips that I never quite got to that “ARGH! When are these kids going back to school so I can relax for just one moment” stage.  It’s nice that I didn’t get to that level of aggravation but it also means I’m sad to to not have the same time with them.  School has started for R and preschool starts next week for L.  Soccer will start soon as well. Tim is going to coach again so his days and evenings will be filled with work, school, and coaching.  It’s great, but also puts us back into a routine where Saturday and Sunday afternoons are the only family time we get.  Homework, baths, long commutes, and soccer practices will take over soon and lazy summer evenings will cease for another year.

Summer isn’t my favourite season but I do enjoy all the time with my littles, while they are still little.  Next summer is already starting to be planned and so far it sounds like it will be wonderful and possibly involve a very long road trip.  Nothing has been set in stone but it looks promising!
