I have completed my first daring bakers challenge! It went very well and only took me three and half hours to complete. I think thats a really good time. I made sure that the little man was safely in bed before starting because it makes doing anything in the kitchen about a hundred times harder with him under my feet.
I decided to make an almond cake with lemon syrup and a layer of strawberries, lemon-vanilla butter cream and white chocolate mousse and ganache.

So last night as I'm talking to my brother-in-law and writing an e-mail when Tim decides that we should have some coffee. I rarely turn up coffee. I love coffee. It's my friend. I have a special place in my diet just for coffee. Unfortunately, I have a tendency to over due the coffee.
Seriously! Especially dessert cookbooks. Why?! I don't know about all of you but I am a visual person. I need the pictures of the oooey, gooey, yummy in my tummy looking desserts. I just don't feel inspired to make them if I have no idea what they will look like.
