These pictures were taken July 21 and 25, 2010. This first one is of my tomato plants in the centre doing quite well and two plants of basil. The one that doesn’t get quite as much sun is doing a lot better. The carrots are on the other side and are doing quite well. As of today, September 4, we have eaten a lot of carrots and enjoyed them quite a bit. There is nothing like a fresh carrot from your garden! Unfortunately, Tim and I are on a pesto low as of late and haven’t been inspired to make pesto with all the basil we have grown.
These pictures were taken June 30, 2010. Everything was going really well. The radishes came in great and we had many many batches of radish butter. The spinach came in great and was a good addition to salads. This coming year I am going to try putting the lettuce mix and spinach in containers on the deck. They don’t take up a lot of room and have a hard time competing with the squashes. I’m not sure where to put the kale and Swiss chard this coming year. I want it to have a better chance and also I would like to be able to reseed it which I couldn’t do this year because the squashes
So, I was going to do updates on my garden this year… as you can that didn’t happen. I’ve lost my blogging mojo and I’m not sure how to get it back. I’ve been reading The Happiness Project and maybe it’s given me the kick I needed to keep going with the blogging thing. We shall see.
I love Pho. It’s one of my favorite meals. Honestly I could eat it every day and still like it just as much. I think it’s the combination of the warmly spiced broth and the bean sprouts that do it for me. I was away from home for this challenge but it turned out quite well and I think that my brother and sister-in-law enjoyed it.
