I’ve lost my blogging mojo temporarily again. I’m not sure how or when it happens but it just doesn’t seem to jive with the rest of my life sometimes. There are far too many reasons to list right now without boring you. I also haven’t found which day works best for blogging lately because (big shocker here) I don’t have posts made up ahead of time. What you see is probably what I wrote about an hour ago. Anyways, I’m going to try and figure it all out and keep my blog mostly up to date.
I love food. I’m not that picky either. I love to try different recipes, because of that we rarely eat the same recipe more than once. I think it’s a tribute to a recipe when we, as a family eat a recipe more than once. There are only a few that I can think of off the top of my head. This Avgolemono, is one of the tried and true recipes that the kids will eat, and it is super easy and delicious.
It’s like nothing ever changed, summer is a distant memory. I can’t believe it’s only been just over a week since summer vacation ended. It feels like it was probably a month or so since vacation. I’m enjoying the routine, the time with my littlest, watching Curious George and making peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Cleaning the handprints off of the windows and mirrors, shaking the sand out of the back mat. Baking chocolate chip cookies for my oldest to take to school, practicing words before dinner and reading to both of my babies before bed.
Summer. For the first time in a long time, probably since I was in school, went by so quickly I’m sure it was just a tease and I am still waiting for the actual summer to show up. The boys are growing up so quickly and we were so busy with day trips around the city and many camping trips that I never quite got to that “ARGH! When are these kids going back to school so I can relax for just one moment” stage. It’s nice that I didn’t get to that level of aggravation but it also means I’m sad to to not have the same time with them.
Camping! We had steak and pasta salad.
Home late, pizza! I had a salad and some chicken
So so hot, canned peaches, cinnamon toast, and cottage cheese
Grilled Cheese and or PB and J (Tim and I had Chicken Caesar)
Waffles and Sausage
Fish Burgers with Sweet Potato Chips
Beans and Hot Dogs
You might notice that this isn’t actually a menu plan. Sorry to disappoint. I did have a plan for this week but it fell apart and we’ve been eating leftovers and using up what is left in the fridge. It hasn’t been a very exciting food week but it doesn’t always have to be.
- After the rodeo we went to Wendy’s so the kids has pb and j and Tim and I didn’t eat.
- Stir Fry with Chicken
- Fish and Chips
- Chicken Tortilla Soup - yes, I actually put some effort in, woohoo!
